warnings and home

Dawn of the dead
Dir. George A. Romero

The second movie from George Romero. A small group of fugitive survivors seek refuge in a shopping mall.

It's an all time classic, despite the somewhat limited make up in places. Which is easily forgiven when the lack of budget is taken in to account.

Plenty of commentary on the modern world in this one. Not that that takes away from the film at all, in fact it is nice to see and has made it one of the greatest zombie movies ever made. A slight lack in pace in places leave it one short of top marks.

Stock piling, fortification, misdirection and secrecy. A good model of how it could be done. Apart from the failure in the group dynamics, some fatal over confidence, and not being able to walk away when required.
