I had let my water supply run too low and had to make a emergency run to somewhere to get some. This stinking, wretched and disgusting thing lurched at me from behind one of the shelves in the shop I had found. I should of checked more carefully.

This was quite a close call, as I missed with my first axe swing in my panic. The second struck home and the third finished the job.

A lesson in preparation.
